Fifth Bit It was not raining out. This made me that much more annoyed at Mrs Bolton’s wimple and mack, but I did not say anything to her, because I was not about to make her any more nervous than she was already. I must say, it was damned trying to have to drive my car while she stayed in the passenger seat, wringing her hands and looking upset. Fourth Bit I watched Zingel carefully unpack his things, and lay them on my dresser. To be honest, he hadn’t brought much. I was a bit surprised. It’s not that I’m terribly high-maintenance, or need to change from a morning outfit to an afternoon outfit to an evening outfit every day, like some of those nasty older ladies who seem to think they are Barbie dolls, but really, it’s a matter of simple hygiene. Third Bit I was wrong, of course. Nearly two hours into the trip I could tell that I was as wrong as was humanly possible. Perhaps it was not the sole fault of the radio station that Ava insisted we listen to the entire drive, but that certainly did not diminish my misery. Its slogan was something to the effect of “All country, all the time!” spoken as such by an enthusiastic voice-over man. It did not disappoint. Second Bit I woke up the next morning, fell out of my bed, got back into my bed, and stepped out of it. I made it meticulously, with the sheets arranged just so, the pillows fluffed and the blankets pulled over so that there were no creases or folds in them. I had these lovely jersey-cotton sheets, which were extraordinarily comfortable – like sleeping between two old t-shirts, which sounds less appealing than it actually is – but the problem with this sort of cotton is that it creases quite easily, and requires quite a bit of actual hard labour to smooth out. First Bit I was sitting on the couch in my apartment – well, not my apartment, per se. You understand that I use the term in its loosest possible sense. A Long-Expected Party

No, not really a long-expected party. That would be far too interesting. I was just thinking about Lord of the Rings. Thought, also, because I can juggle a quite astounding number of thoughts in my head at once, that I might write a new journal, because my last journal was talking about the summer, which is coming to a close, and to keep that up on my page would be just depressing. So here we go: Hurrah for fall, and school, and all that! Look at me, being excited! Not sad at all! Such a profitable summer! Not sorry it's over at all! ... yeah. Right. (A bit overdue) summer update

Hello, Thought it was a time for a change on the front page - my last entry complained of examinations, which are now all over, and which, happily, I passed well. Not much new here (is there ever really anything new during the summer?). I've been putsing around, biding my time. I have not been able to accomplish an incredible amount, because my computer has died and gone to computer-hell, where I hope it will burn and melt just like it did in life. Mmm, nothing smells better than burning plastic. My dad and I even replaced part of the dratted cord (involving lots of cutting and re-wrapping and lighters and electrical savvy - sorry, guesses -
